RevoluzZza @ arte

It has been some time ago now that arte broadcasted the report about RevoluzZza – and I got to know about it after it was already shown on TV.

Anyway – it was an interesting experience and the report itself was pretty good (I didn’t like all of it – but I’m a hopeless perfectionist :-) )

Dress revoluzZzionary! (2)

Here is another revoluzZzionary dress with the same pattern (actually I made many dresses already with that pattern, but I don’t like them enough to show them :-) ).

I realized that there is a trend in Germany and elsewhere to mix many, many fabrics so that the kid’s clothes get very multi-colored. That’s really nice – but actually I want my dresses to be just the opposite. Few fabrics, few different colors and maybe a simple – a really simple – application.

And this dress is my favorite revoluzZzionary one so far:

Dress revoluzZzionary!

Sometimes it’s not enough to just have a revoluzZzionary little friend (like a monster or a cat or a bunny…) – sometimes you really have to dress revoluzZzionary, too! And to make that happen:  Girls get revoluzZzionary dresses now.

It took some time for me to develop a pattern that I really like – it should be very simple (as I like a simple and plain style) and very comfortable to wear. To add a bit girlishness I use a different fabric/color for the upper part of the body – that reminds a bit of the empire dress style but still remains straight without any quillings and so on. The hemline is girlish too – I use a rolled hem here.

(Lilith wears a shirt under the dress – the dress itself is with short sleeves):

New cats in town

I have been pretty busy with many things lately – so I haven’t updated my blog and my shop recently.

But there is a new shop update coming along next week – and this time there will be a lot of absolutely new and cute cats, which are sometimes dangerous, some in a good and some in a bad or sad or dreamy mood…

These are some of the new cats in town (the cat girl in the middle is Maude –  she is really a special one. Always the one who is in charge, always has an answer to every question she is asked and has always a clean tissue with her to clean the mess that others did – to make the world a better place :-). Better don’t mess with her – that could become dangerous: For YOU)

Earth Day: Make a Difference

green is beautiful

Yes, the issues the Earth Day brings to our minds are not nice and easy ones – and people tend to avoid them. Some argue that environmentalist are overreacting, some argue that there is no global warming at all, some react fatalistic and think that it’s too late anyway and there is nothing left to do to avoid the disaster.

But there are also many, many people who found their own way to make a difference. And as this is a crafting blog – I’ll show some crafters and designers who make a difference:

It’s not going to change the world – but it still makes a difference when you start to use eco fabrics or/and recycled materials and buy eco friendly toys.

Oh, and here is my favorite Earth Day idea: The Eco-friendly umbrella :-)
