Summer Slump Shop Update / Sommerloch-Shop-Update…

… tomorrow. The next one you will get after our vacation. So… you’ll better have a look at the revoluzZzionary shop tomorrow (or you’ll be patient until after the summer vacation) :-)

… morgen.

Inspiration: Apple & Eve

It’s time again to share another one of my inspirations with you.

I think, almost all my life I thought embroidery is something very, very boring – and especially hand stitched stuff: such a waste of time! When I was a girl my mother gave me a embroidery hoop as a present – and I wasn’t really excited about that. Actually I only used it once in school when I had to… but I so disliked that boring stuff. My mother showed me some of the embroidery she did on some blouses and table cloth. Such boring stuff from my point of view.
diehasen003 Well, when I started to make fabric creatures some years ago – stitching the faces was the first thing that came to my mind. And of course I started the very simple way: a simple cross stitch for the mouth (of course inspired by the famous Miffy bunny) and some cloddy yarn thing for the eyes. And it really took some time until I realized that stitching can really be something nice, even relaxing, very creative and – absolutely not boring.

Since then – I stitched a lot. And stitching little doll’s faces is really something exciting – as I’m never really sure how a face finally turns out. But I even stitched very old-fashioned stuff in the meantime:

There is one artists who is my all-time-favorite inspiration concerning stitching: Apple & Eve

The work of Apple & Eve ist really one-of-a-kind, very special and you’ll always recognize an Apple & Eve’s art piece. The shapes of the Apple & Eve stuffed animals are simple, the colors vary only from pure white to linen or grey – and the simplicity of the creatures are clashing with the super detailed and precise stitching artwork. I absolutely love this way of opposites getting together: simplicity and complexity.

Have a look at Apple & Eve’s amazing work on flickr – and buy a piece of art in the shop (just as I did right now :-))

New RevoluzZzas in Town

Hot in the City: Wedding Dress#4

Sometimes we felt as if we were melting away (it was really pretty hot) – but in general we had such a nice and sunny weekend! Thanks to all the nice and interesting visitors and customers. The Wedding Dress#4 was really a huge success for RevoluzZza and we enjoyed so much to get to know so many interesting and inspiring people, customers and designers.

This is our booth on sunday – already pretty empty thanks to our nice customers:

And two more amazing labels I forgot to take photos of: Batata and tumult.

Batata is creating super cool kid’s shirts and clothes on bio-cotton with great prints on it. Both of my kids HAD to have one of those shirts :-)

And tumult was the label right beside us – and we had such a great time together. Heidi from tumult is designing and creating super cute and special little creatures as well as purses, bags and other accessoires.

We really enjoyed Wedding Dress this year again and we are looking forward to be a part of it again next year! Thank you all who visited us – you all made this event perfect!
