Earth Day: Make a Difference
Yes, the issues the Earth Day brings to our minds are not nice and easy ones – and people tend to avoid them. Some argue that environmentalist are overreacting, some argue that there is no global warming at all, some react fatalistic and think that it’s too late anyway and there is nothing left to do to avoid the disaster.
But there are also many, many people who found their own way to make a difference. And as this is a crafting blog – I’ll show some crafters and designers who make a difference:
- Craft Critique presented many upcycled and recycled craft ideas (including my eco dolls :-) )
- One of my all time favorite is Hasenpfeffer Inc. who use recycled materials for their adorable dolls
- Beautiful green wrapping by maya*made
- Great clothes made out of vintage fabrics by mame*
- Cute bears made out of used jeans
- Hand made dolls made out of recycled materials
- And here you find some really nice ideas to create eco things with your kids
It’s not going to change the world – but it still makes a difference when you start to use eco fabrics or/and recycled materials and buy eco friendly toys.
Oh, and here is my favorite Earth Day idea: The Eco-friendly umbrella :-)
I am aware of green issues and refuse to throw away anything that may come in handy one day, even the tiniest little scraps of fabric! You may be interested to read about my new toy on my blog which is relevant http://frutejuce.blogspot.com/2009/04/my-new-toy.html
