I ♥ Robots

We all love robots – don’t we?
Of course everyone likes WALL-E, R2-D2, C3PO, Number 5… most boys are crazy about the Transformers, Lego-Mindstorms, Lego-Bionicle and things like that. My son owns some really cool robot shirts (and I like them much more than those pirates-skull-bones-shirts – I don’t like dead stuff on kids. But maybe I’m just superstitious :-) ).
So: we really need more robot stuff. What about a really cool robot ribbon which you can use for many, many things? You could sew it on a t-shirt and create a cool robot-shirt, take a boring bag and create a groovy robot-bag, you can gather curtains in the children’s room with this ribbon… you can even create a cool Advent calendar with it.

And I’m sure many more possibilities will come to your mind. And I‘ know that you really think now: „I NEED SUCH A COOL ROBOT RIBBON!“

Wir alle lieben doch Roboter – nicht wahr?
Natürlich mag jeder WALL-E, R2-D2, C3PO, Number 5… die meisten Jungs sind verrückt nach den Transformers, Lego-Mindstorms, Lego-Bionicle usw. Mein Sohn besitzt ein paar wirklich coole Roboter-Shirts (und ich mag sie viel lieber als diese Piraten-Totenkopf-Klapperknochen-Shirts – ich mag einfach keine toten Sachen auf Kinderklamotten. Aber vielleicht bin ich auch einfach abergläubisch :-) )

Also: Wir brauchen wirklich mehr Roboter-Sachen. Wie wäre es mit einem Roboter-Stoffband, das man für alles mögliche verwenden könnte? Man könnte es auf T-Shirts nähen, aus langweiligen Taschen echt coole Roboter-Bags machen, man könnte es um langweilige Gardinenschals im Kinderzimmer binden und das Zimmer damit echt aufpimpen… und man könnte sogar einen echt supercoolen Adventskalender damit machen.

Ich bin mir sicher, dass Euch noch viel mehr Dinge einfallen, was man mit so einem Band machen könnte. Und ich weiss, dass Ihr jetzt nur noch eines denkt: „ICH BRAUCHE UNBEDINGT SO EIN COOLES ROBOTER-BAND!

After a long, long journey they all finally arrived: „Charlotte’s Angels“ and „Cats and the City“ (I will write something about the Cats soon and show some more photos) – and they all love Los Angeles :-)

Nach einer langen, langen Reise kamen sie schließlich alle an: „Drei Engel für Charlotte“ und die „Cats and the City“ (über die werde ich demnächst mehr berichten und Fotos zeigen). Und was soll ich sagen: Sie lieben Los Angeles :-)

Little Legs/Beinchen

Yes, legs… many, many legs for my new project that has to be ready very soon. I’m a bit stressed out right now and I think I will be really happy when I’m finished. Don’t get me wrong: I love this project and it’s really special in many ways… but SO many little legs? Seriously: My dreams at night are all about many, many little, little legs…

Ja, Beinchen… viele, vielen Beinchen nähte ich für mein aktuelles Projekt, das ganz bald fertig sein muss. Ich bin momentan ziemlich im Stress und ich bin echt froh, wenn ich endlich fertig bin.

Versteht mich nicht falsch: Ich finde mein Projekt wirklich großartig und es ist sehr interessant und speziell… aber SO viele kleine Beinchen? Ich träume schon nachts von… vielen, vielen, kleinen Beinchen…

For a special project I needed new fabrics. (I will tell you more about that soon :-) )
I really love the fabric shop Frau Tulpe – but I wanted to try something new this time.

So I bought the first time at a online-fabric-shop I didn’t know so far  which is based in Berlin, Germany – and got AMAZING fabrics!

Check it out: Volksfaden.de! It’s absolutely awesome.
The stock is based in an old mansion near the Berlin Wannsee and run by an extremely nice lady. Have a look at her blog too.

Für ein spezielles Projekt brauchte ich neue Stoffe. (Mehr dazu später :-) )
Ich liebe ja wirklich den Frau Tulpe-Stoffladen – aber ich wollte mal was neues ausprobieren.

Also kaufte ich meine Stoffe zum ersten Mal bei einem Online-Stoff-Shop hier in Berlin, den ich noch nicht kannte – und bekam GROßARTIGE Stoffe!

Der Laden hat sein Lager in einer alten Villa in der Nähe des Berliner Wannsees und gehört einer unheimlich netten, kreativen Frau, die auch einen sehr interessanten Blog schreibt.

Angelic bodily parts/ Engelshafte Körperteile

Since I found my absolute favorite TV Show – „Dexter“ – I have a secret affectation for human bodily parts. The difference between Dexter Morgan and me is: The bodies I am working on are in parts first – and his when he finished his work :-) .

So here are some shots of angelic bodily parts which I really like.

Seit ich meine absolute Lieblingsfernsehserie – „Dexter“ – gefunden habe, habe ich eine heimliche Vorliebe für menschliche Körperteile. Der Unterschied zwischen Dexter Morgan und mir ist: Die Körper, an denen ich arbeite, sind anfangs noch in Einzelteilen – und seine sind in Einzelteilen, wenn er mit seiner Arbeit fertig ist :-) .

Charlotte’s Angels in L.A.

Yay, the Super Plush show is just over – and my missing dolls arrived In L.A. :-)
Well, it’s a good thing that DHL didn’t really lose them – but just couldn’t find them for some time.

I learned that I will NEVER ever use DHL again. The worst thing wasn’t the fact that they couldn’t find my package that was send in a special and expensive way – the worst thing was the way they dealt with the problem. It was literally as if their left hand didn’t know what the right hand was doing and everyone blamed someone else and so on.

Anyway – they will be shown at Ghetto Gloss and will also be available at their shop. So everything will still be fine.
And here they are: My Charlotte’s Angels!

The theme for the L.A. show was „Creatures“ – and because the show took part in L.A. I thought it would be a nice idea to create creatures which remind in some way of popular TV shows; like (I guess you already realized the connection :-) ) : Charlie’s Angels.
Charlotte’s Angels are the revoluzZzionary 2008 version of the pretty patriarchic original version from the 70s (no, I’m not going to make this an feminist issue :-) ). They are still very pretty, they are cool – and they don’t need a mysterious sugar daddy telling them what to do. So forget about Charlie – here are Charlotte’s Angels:

Tja, die Super Plush-Ausstellung endete just – und nun kamen meine verschollenen Puppen doch noch in L.A. an. DHL hatte sie also nicht – wie befürchtet – verloren, sondern nur irgendwie verlegt und nicht so schnell wiedergefunden. Das Schlimmste an der ganzen Aktion war gar nicht, dass DHL mein Paket nicht finden konnte – sondern die Art, wie mit dem Problem umgegangen wurde… Bei jedem Gespräch bekam man neue, sich meistens widersprechende Infos und einer schob die Schuld an der ganzen Geschichte auf den nächsten. Mein Fazit: DHL – nie wieder.

Hier ist auf jeden Fall der erste Teil der Puppen, die ich nach L.A. schickte und die nun trotzdem die Ausstellung schon vorbei ist noch ausgestellt und verkauft werden – Drei Engel für Charlotte :-) . Das Thema der Ausstellung war „Creatures“ und da sie in L.A. stattfand dachte ich, es sei eine gute Idee, diese Kreaturen mit bekannten Hollywood-TV-Serien zu verbinden. Meine revoluzZzionären Drei Engel für Charlotte sind also die moderne Version der der ziemlich patriarchalischen Ausgabe aus den 70ern. Und ohne ernsthaft feministisch werden zu wollen: Moderne Engel brauchen doch nun wirklich keinen mysteriösen Sugar Daddy mehr, der ihnen sagt, was zu tun ist. Also: Vergeßt Charlie – hier sind Charlottes Engel.
