„Roaming through the Woods“

This will be the last new fabric design for this week – it’s also meant to be printed on organic cotton with herbal colors. Fair trade. Of course.

And it’s my favorite one from all my fabric designs so far.
Just in case I didn’t mention it so far: I love everything about the forest – the animals, the plants. Everything. And so I love to use the woods as an inspiration for my work. Like I did when I made this design:

Dies wird nun mein letztes neues Stoff-Muster in dieser Woche sein – und es wird ebenfalls auf GOTS-Bio-Baumwolle mit Pflanzenfarben gedruckt werden. Selbstverständlich :-)

Falls ich es noch nicht erwähnt haben sollte: Ich liebe die Wälder und alles was in ihnen wächst und kreucht und fleucht. Der Wald mit seinen Bewohnern ist für mich immer wieder eine große Inspiration. Und so entstand auch dieses Muster:

… that sounds promising :-)

We are still working on getting and providing organic fabrics made by people who are in fact good paid for their hard work. And fabrics that are just completely poison free.

Right now three people from the German company Lebenskleidung.de I’m working with are in India to visit the fabric producing company, the cotton fields, the cotton farmers and workers – watching and understanding the working process and all the details about organic cotton, herbal colors and so on.

I finally got the first samples from the Red Riding Hood fabric. And I’m pretty happy with it. It really took a long time until I got it – but it was the first order and I’m optimistic that things will happen faster from now on.I will show you photos of the fabric hopefully tomorrow. The production process will start now and I hope to have the fabric as soon as possible.

But before I will have the Red Riding Hood fabric, I have to work already on new fabric patterns for herbal dyed and printed organic fabrics- I want to show you the latest designs and I’m looking forward to hear your opinion.

I know that mushroom and apple patterns aren’t that exciting anymore – but there are just no organic cotton fabrics dyed and printed with herbal colors existing with these popular patterns:

Unser Fokus ist momentan darauf gerichtet, fair produzierte Bio-Stoffe selbst zu verarbeiten und anzubieten, die komplett frei von Giften und den in der Textilindustrie üblichen Chemikalien sind.

Momentan sind drei Mitarbeiter des Stoffgroßhändlers Lebenskleidung.de in Indien und besichtigen das Unternehmen, das uns genau diese Stoffe produzieren und liefern soll.

In den letzten Tagen nun habe ich auch endlich die Samples von meinem Rotkäppchen-Stoff in den Händen halten können, der jetzt in die Produktion geht und dann hoffentlich sehr bald zu kaufen sein wird. In den nächsten Tagen werde ich Euch die Samples des fertigen Stoffes zeigen.
Aber bevor die Produktion des Rotkäppchen-Stoffes fertig sein wird, muss ich schon wieder an neuen Mustern für die kommende Kollektion arbeiten – und die folgenden stehen dabei bisher zur Auswahl. Natürlich sind Fliepi- und Äpfelchen-Stoffe nun nichts revolutionär Neues – aber eben so beliebt, dass es sie im RevoluzZza-Style auch als Bio-Stoff mit Pflanzenfarben gefärbt geben muss. Ich freue mich auf Euer Feedback:

RevoluzZzionary Autumn Girls / RevoluzZionäre Herbstmädchen

Already some time now we have two (or more?) companies like Spoonflower in Germany, too.
One of them is stoff’n and Katja Locke – the owner of stoff’n – invited all designers to take part in a contest with the topic „Autumn“ which will be featured at Dawanda from tomorrow on. You can vote there for your favorite autumn fabric – and I would be happy if you would like and vote for the RevoluzZza fabric: The RevoluzZzionary Autumn Girls :-)

Seit einiger Zeit gibt es endlich auch in Deutschland zwei (oder mehr) Anbieter wie Spoonflower in den USA, bei denen man kleine Mengen Stoff mit eigenem Design produzieren lassen kann. Absolut großartig!
Und Katja Locke, die Besitzerin von stoff’n, lud nun zum Wettbewerb zum Thema „Herbst“ – in Zusammenarbeit mit Dawanda. Ab morgen könnt Ihr abstimmen, welcher Herbst-Stoff Euch am besten gefällt – und ich würde mich natürlich freuen, wenn Ihr für die RevoluzZionären Herbstmädchen abstimmen würdet :-)

Creating Love

This is my part of the very nice Dawanda community project „Creating Love“:

Vor ca. 2 Wochen bekam ich eine überraschende Mail vom Social Shopping Portal Dawanda – ob ich nicht Lust hätte am Gemeinschafts-Film Creating Love mitzumachen. Ich hätte auch fast so viel Zeit, wie ich wolle – zum Glück, denn sonst hätte ich es zeitlich wahrscheinlich gar nicht geschafft.
Und jetzt endlich diese Woche machte ich mich ans Werk und es machte dann viel mehr Spass, als ich zu nächst gedacht hatte. Und jetzt bin ich unheimlich gespannt aufs fertige Produkt! Das kann ich mir nämlich noch gar nicht vorstellen.

Jetzt aber genug Kryptik – das ist es, worum es eigentlich geht:
Dawanda gestaltete einen schwarz-weiss Zeichentrick-Film, dessen einzelne Frames von den Dawanda-Kreativen ausgefüllt werden sollten.

Ganz nach Lust und Inspiration, Material egal, Farben egal – Hauptsache das ursprüngliche Motiv ist noch zu erkennen. Und 1593 Frames mussten gefüllt werden (ich glaube, es sind sogar noch welche zu haben. Also, Kreative vor :-) . Wenn ich mich richtig erinnere, hat man jetzt 3 Tage Zeit für die Gestaltung – und wenn man es bis dahin nicht geschafft hat, wird der Frame wieder frei).

Und das ist mein endgültiges Ergebnis (eigentlich sollte das Mädchen noch ganz RevoluzZza-typisch Katzenohren bekommen, aber die vergaß ich irgendwie und nun gefällt es mir so auch):

Mrs. Frida Fox / Madame Frida Fuchs

Mrs. Frida Fox is living in a log cabin in the middle of a forest – together with some whimsical creatures: A neurotic hedgehog who is afraid of needlings and other spikey things, a snail who dislikes fruits, vegetables and salad (and who is only eating toast with sausage every day) and her stepdaughter Gisela Goose (and the name is already telling it: She is a goose. It’s a widespread misunderstanding that foxes use to eat geese, most of them don’t eat meat at all: Frida Fox is a vegeterian already her whole life).
And depending on the season – there is also a wild duck living in Frida’s house: Wilma Wanderingduck. And she always knows the best stories about exciting things around the world: Whether a princess marries a garbageman, a super star gets her thirteenth divorce or the hot womanizer actor finally admits that he is gay.

Madame Frida Fuchs wohnt mitten im Wald in einem kleinen Holzhäuschen – gemeinsam mit allerhand wunderlichen Waldtieren: Einem leicht neurotischen Igel, der Angst vor Nadeln und allgemein spitzen Gegenständen hat, einer Waldschnecke, die weder Obst noch Gemüse mag (und sich stattdessen ausschließlich von Leberwurstbrot ernährt) und ihrer Adoptivtochter Gisela Gans (es ist nämlich gar nicht wahr, dass Füchse ständig Gänse essen – Madame Frida Fuchs ist seitdem sie denken kann Vegetarierin). Und je nacj Jahreszeit hat sie noch eine weitere Untermieterin: Die nomadisch lebende Wilma Wildente, die immer den neuesten Tratsch aus der weiten Welt erzählen kann.

As I already wrote: Foxes are my favorite animals (besides cats). When we went on vacation this year on one of our long walks through the forest, we met such a beautiful and cute fox – that couldn’t wait to have him as an inspiration for another fox doll. He was the inspiration for Frida Fox.

Wie ich schon schrieb, sind Füchse (neben Katzen) meine Lieblingstiere. Und als wir während unseres Sommerurlaubs bei einem Waldspaziergang einen ganz wunderbaren und schönen Fuchs trafen, der sich richtig lange von uns beobachten ließ, wusste ich, dass ich bald wieder eine Fuchpuppe nähen muss – eine ganz neue. Und so wurde der kleine Fuchs im wald am brocken zur Inspiration für Frida Fuchs.
