I always liked robots so very much – and I still think that robots made with fabric and doll padding are a nice paradox. It was time to make a new robot – the little robot friend:
And I think there will be more little robot friends soon.
We all love robots – don’t we?
Of course everyone likes WALL-E, R2-D2, C3PO, Number 5… most boys are crazy about the Transformers, Lego-Mindstorms, Lego-Bionicle and things like that. My son owns some really cool robot shirts (and I like them much more than those pirates-skull-bones-shirts – I don’t like dead stuff on kids. But maybe I’m just superstitious :-) ).
So: we really need more robot stuff. What about a really cool robot ribbon which you can use for many, many things? You could sew it on a t-shirt and create a cool robot-shirt, take a boring bag and …
It happened last weekend: We were on a festival and suddenly one child just vanished. Fortunately it appeared again after a short time – but I thought: We really need Lost-and-Found-Buttons with our mobile phone number and the child’s name on it.
And those Lost-and-Found-Buttons has to be that cool that the kids like to wear them.

Sometimes it’s interesting to have a look behind the scenes. Today I show you what has to happen to get such a cute little robot friend:
Manchmal ist ein Blick hinter die Kulissen einfach nett. Drum zeige ich hier mal, was passieren musste, damit Lilith diesen süßen Roboter in ihren Armen halten konnte:
Everything starts with a sketch on my computer:
Bei mir beginnt immer alles mit einer Skizze am Computer:
And then: Print the sketch, cut it out, pin it on the chosen fabric, cut the fabric, neat the edges, decorate it…
Dann wird die Skizze …
The truth is: Someone found him in a pile of broken black stones… far away in a deserted area in Siberia. He was brought to us and we coddled him up with a lot of engine oil. And he became a brave and strong robot – a real daredevil.
And every night, when he falls asleep – he asks in a low voice: “Will I dream?”. And when you think: “Hm, that sounds familiar to me…”. That’s right: ENO is a cousin of HAL 9000…
