Beyond the mountains… / Hinter den Bergen..

 

… at the seven Dwarfs lives Snow White – the most beautiful girl in the world.

As you eventually already realized: I LOVE fairy tales! And Snow White is one of my favorite ones (beside Red Riding Hood) and I LOVED to make a Snow White costum.
I used old materials: table cloth with lace and fabric and felt leftovers – and so the costum cost nearly nothing. We only bought the little golden crown.

The “Mr. Nilsson shirt”

I bought this really nice fabric with the little lake, the trees and those animals on it already some time ago – and I loved to use it for the second try with my Bernina serger.

I’m really happy with the result: A cute shirt for my daughter. And as there is a tiny little monkey somewhere on the shirt – my daughter calls it her “Mr. Nilsson shirt”. And as she is such a huge Pippi Longstocking fan – it wasn’t easy to persuade her to take it off again :-)

A new dress and an apple

I started this year by buying something really nice: A brandnew and phantastic Bernina overlock sewing machine/serger. I already sewed some cute dresses for my daughter with my Pfaff sewing machine – and although I really liked the results, I was always aware that I would need a serger soon.

And now I’m learning to work with my wonderful new serger – and it’s really true (like many told me): It’s much easier to work with a serger than you might think.
I’m not a fan of buying patterns and working after them – this is cutting back my creativity …
