This is a project I really like to support: The Dolly Donations project
Sarah decided to start this project to help children who lost their parents in Haiti.
Many people already gave money to help people in Haiti – and it’s absolutely never enough because the pain and the suffering of the Haitians is terrible in a way – we cannot even imagine. So there is a lot of help needed to help especially traumatized children who just lost everything. And they don’t need just money – they need something that makes them happy. And therefore I really like Sarah’s project so very much: To give children who lost everything and have nothing to call their own something that belongs to them alone.

Sarah already did such a good job, made many dolls of her own and also got many dolls from several doll makers – but she still needs more so that every child in the orphanage she is supporting will get his/her own doll. So, come on: Do something really nice and kind and help a child get some hope. And make a doll for a child. Your doll/dolls have to be in New York City at March 31st – so hurry!

Wir waren und sind alle entsetzt über das Leid der Menschen in Haiti und viele haben Geld gespendet – und es sollte auch weiterhin gespendet werden, denn es braucht noch viel Zeit und Hilfe, den Menschen in ihrer direkten Not zu helfen. Und vorallem auch, ihnen zu helfen, wenn die existentiellen Nöte befriedigt sind – denn die Menschen sind schwer traumatisiert durch ihre Erlebnisse. Und ganz besonders trifft das die Kinder.

Um den Kindern Hoffnung zu geben, hat Sarah das Projekt Dolly Donations ins Leben gerufen. Für ein Waisenhaus in Haiti werden Puppen genäht, um Kindern, die alles verloren haben und nichts ihr Eigen nennen können, eine Freude zu machen und etwas Hoffnung zu geben. Sarah hat schon unheimlich viel geschafft, hat jede Menge Puppen selber genäht und hat auch schon eine Menge genähte Puppen geschickt bekommen. Aber damit auch wirklich jedes Kind in dem Waisenhaus eine Puppe bekommt, werden noch mehr benötigt.
Also: Tut was Gutes, gebt einem Kind ein bisschen Hoffnung – und näht eine Puppe! Die Puppen müssen bis zum 31. März in New York sein – also beeilt Euch (denn die Reise von Deutschland in die USA dauert ja auch ein bisschen).
